Eligibility Criteria

In keeping with the U.S. Government-sponsored initiatives dedicated to democratic reform, the competition for the Youth Exchange and Study scholarship is merit-based and open at no cost to all applicants who meet the following requirements:

Be between the ages of 15 – 17 by the start of the program (August 15, 2025). Have a date of birth between August 15, 2008 and August 15, 2010 on birth certificate.
Be enrolled in a secondary school at the time of application. Private or coaching center students are not eligible.
Be currently enrolled in grades 8, 9, 10, or 11 in Bangladeshi high schools or colleges. Bangladeshi citizens studying in foreign countries are not eligible to apply.
Have an average of 50% (B / Achieving) or better without any failing grade on any individual subject.
Must be able to provide transcripts from 2022, 2023, and 2024 academic years. Applicants cannot have a gap year or repeated year of study in the last three academic years. For only the current grade, if a transcript is unavailable, the applicant must collect a predictive transcript/ class test result from the authority on the institution’s letterhead pad.
Meet U.S. J-1 visa eligibility requirements (for instance, U.S. citizens are not eligible for a J-1 visa).
Not have spent a total of more than 90 days in the U.S. in the last five years.
Be a resident and citizen of Bangladesh. Dual citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. or any other country are not eligible.
Demonstrate sufficient English Language ability to speak and study in English.
Applicants cannot have any parent currently employed by the U.S. Embassy or U.S. Mission.
Applicants must not have applied for U.S. immigration through family or relatives.
Applicants must not be siblings of YES participants

Students with Disabilities

The program can support students with disabilities and encourages their participation. The Department of State and the YES program work with Mobility International (MIUSA) to provide students with disabilities leadership-building workshops, appropriate information, and support as needed to enhance their year in America. অংশগ্রহণের যোগ্যতা

একজন আবেদনকারীর নিম্নলিখিত যোগ্যতাগুলো থাকতে হবে:

গণতান্ত্রিক মূল্যবোধ বিকাশের লক্ষ্যে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের সরকারের অর্থায়নে আয়োজিত ‘Youth Exchange and Study’ স্কলারশিপ এর বাছাই প্রক্রিয়া মেধা ভিত্তিক এবং নিম্নলিখিত যোগ্যতাসমূহের অধিকারী সকলের জন্য বিনামূল্যে উন্মুক্ত:

প্রোগ্রাম আরম্ভকালীন সময়ে (১৫ই আগস্ট ২০২৫) আবেদনকারীর বয়স ১৫ থেকে ১৭ বছরের মধ্যে হতে হবে। অর্থাৎ, আবেদনকারীর জন্মসনদ অনুসারে তার জন্ম তারিখ ১৫ই আগস্ট ২০০৮ থেকে ১৫ই আগস্ট, ২০১০ এর মধ্যে হতে হবে।
আবেদনকারীকে অবশ্যই একটি মাধ্যমিক বা উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থী হতে হবে। প্রাইভেট বা কোচিং সেন্টারে শিক্ষারত শিক্ষার্থীদের আবেদন গ্রহণযোগ্য হবে না।
বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশী কোনো শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের অষ্টম, নবম, দশম বা একাদশ শ্রেণীর শিক্ষার্থী হতে হবে। বিদেশে শিক্ষারত বাংলাদেশী নাগরিকদের আবেদন গ্রহণযোগ্য নয়।
বার্ষিক ফলাফলে গড়ে ন্যূনতম ৫০% (B / অর্জনমুখী) বা তার অধিক নম্বর থাকতে হবে। আবেদনকারীর নম্বরপত্র / মার্কশীটে কোনো বিষয়ে অকৃতকার্য (F গ্রেড) থাকা যাবে না।
আবেদনের সময় অবশ্যই ২০২২, ২০২৩ এবং ২০২৪ শিক্ষাবর্ষের নম্বরপত্র/মার্কসীট জমা দিতে হবে। বিগত ৩ শিক্ষাবর্ষের মধ্যে কোনো শিক্ষা বিরতি বা কোনো শ্রেণীর পুনরাবৃত্তি থাকলে আবেদনকারীকে অযোগ্য বলে বিবেচনা করা হবে। শুধুমাত্র বর্তমান শিক্ষাবর্ষের ক্ষেত্রে যদি নম্বরপত্র/ মার্কশীট না থাকে, তাহলে আবেদনকারীকে অবশ্যই তার শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান এর প্রধান থেকে সম্ভাব্য নম্বরপত্র (Predictive Transcript) / ক্লাস টেস্ট এর ফলাফল প্রতিষ্ঠানের লেটারহেড প্যাড এ সংগ্রহ করে জমা দিতে হবে।
যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের J-1 ভিসা পাওয়ার যোগ্যতা থাকতে হবে (উদাহরণস্বরূপ: যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের নাগরিকরা J-1 ভিসা পাওয়ার অযোগ্য)।
আবেদনকারী বিগত ৫ বছরের মধ্যে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে মোট ৯০ দিনের অধিক বসবাস বা ভ্রমণ করে থাকলে তাকে অযোগ্য বলে বিবেচনা করা হবে।
আবেদনকারীকে অবশ্যই বাংলাদেশে বসবাসকারী স্থায়ী নাগরিক হতে হবে। কেউ দ্বৈত নাগরিকত্বের অধিকারী বা বিদেশে স্থায়ীভাবে বসবাসরত হলে তার আবেদন বাতিল হিসেবে গণ্য হবে।
ইংরেজি ভাষায় স্বাচ্ছন্দে কথা বলা, লেখা ও শিক্ষালাভের জন্য যথেষ্ট দক্ষতা প্রদর্শন করতে হবে।
আবেদনকারীর পিতামাতার কেউ যুক্তরাষ্ট্র দূতাবাসে বা মিশনে কর্মরত থাকলে উক্ত প্রার্থী অযোগ্য বলে বিবেচিত হবে।
আবেদনকারীর নিজ পরিবার কিংবা আত্মীয়-স্বজনের মাধ্যমে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে অভিবাসনের আবেদন করে থাকলে তার আবেদনপত্র বাতিল হিসেবে গণ্য হবে।
আবেদনকারীর ভাই-বোন YES প্রোগ্রাম এ অংশগ্রহণ করে থাকলে তার আবেদন অযোগ্য বলে বিবেচিত হবে।

প্রতিবন্ধী শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য

YES Program প্রতিবন্ধী শিক্ষার্থীদের সমর্থন করে এবং তাদের অংশগ্রহণকে উৎসাহিত করে। যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের Department of State এবং YES Program একসাথে Mobility International (MIUSA)-এর সাথে কাজ করে। প্রতিবন্ধী শিক্ষার্থীদের আমেরিকায় বছরটি সফল করার জন্য leadership-building workshops, Program সম্পর্কিত তথ্য এবং প্রয়োজন অনুযায়ী সমর্থন প্রদান করে। প্রতিবন্ধী শিক্ষার্থীদের অবশ্যই উপরের অংশগ্রহণের যোগ্যতার শর্তাবলী পূরণ করতে হবে। প্রতিবন্ধী আবেদনকারীদেরকে যোগ্যতার তথ্যের জন্য আমাদের সাথে যোগাযোগ করার জন্য উৎসাহিত করা হচ্ছে।
