Eligibility Criteria

In keeping with the U.S. Government-sponsored initiatives dedicated to democratic reform, the competition for the Youth Exchange and Study scholarship is merit-based and open at no cost to all applicants who meet the following requirements:

Be between the ages of 15 – 17 by the start of the program (August 15, 2024). Have a date of birth between August 15, 2007, and August 15, 2009, on the birth certificate.
Be enrolled in a secondary school at the time of application. Private or coaching center students are not eligible.
Be currently enrolled in grades 8, 9, 10, or 11 in Bangladeshi high schools or colleges. Bangladeshi citizens studying in foreign countries are not eligible to apply.
Have the equivalent of a B average or better without failing grades.
Must be able to provide transcripts from the 2021, 2022, and 2023 academic years and have the equivalent of a B average or better without any failing grades on those transcripts. Applicants cannot have a gap year or repeated year of study in the last three academic years.
Meet U.S. J-1 visa eligibility requirements (for instance, U.S. citizens are not eligible for a J-1 visa).
Not have spent a total of more than 90 days in the U.S. in the last five years.
Be a resident and citizen of Bangladesh. Dual citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. or any other country are not eligible.
Demonstrate sufficient English Language ability to speak and study in English.
Applicants cannot have any or both parents currently employed by the U.S. Embassy or U.S. Mission.
Applicants must not have applied for U.S. immigration through family or relatives.

Students with Disabilities

The program can support students with disabilities and encourages their participation. The Department of State and the YES program work with Mobility International (MIUSA) to provide students with disabilities leadership-building workshops, appropriate information, and support as needed to enhance their year in America. অংশগ্রহণের যোগ্যতা

একজন আবেদনকারীর নিম্নলিখিত যোগ্যতাগুলো থাকতে হবে:

গণতান্ত্রিক মূল্যবোধ বিকাশের লক্ষ্যে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের সরকারের অর্থায়নে আয়োজিত ‘Youth Exchange and Study Program’ এর বাছাই প্রক্রিয়া মেধা ভিত্তিক এবং নিম্নলিখিত যোগ্যতাসমূহের অধিকারী সকলের জন্য বিনামূল্যে উন্মুক্ত:

প্রোগ্রাম আরম্ভকালীন (২০২৪ সালের ১৫ই আগস্ট তারিখে) আবেদনকারীর বয়স ১৫ থেকে ১৭ বছরের মধ্যে হতে হবে। অর্থাৎ, আবেদনকারীর জন্মসনদ অনুসারে তার জন্ম তারিখ ১৫ই আগস্ট, ২০০৭ থেকে ১৫ই আগস্ট, ২০০৯ এর মধ্যে হতে হবে।
আবেদনকারীকে অবশ্যই একটি মাধ্যমিক বা উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থী হতে হবে। প্রাইভেট বা কোচিং সেন্টারে শিক্ষারত শিক্ষার্থীদের আবেদন গ্রহণযোগ্য হবে না।
বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশী কোনো শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের অষ্টম, নবম, দশম বা একাদশ শ্রেণীর শিক্ষার্থী হতে হবে। বিদেশে শিক্ষারত বাংলাদেশী নাগরিকদের আবেদন গ্রহণযোগ্য নয়।
আবেদনের সময় অবশ্যই ২০২১, ২০২২ এবং ২০২৩ শিক্ষাবর্ষের নম্বরপত্র/মার্কসীট জমা দিতে হবে। বার্ষিক ফলাফলে গড়ে কমপক্ষে ‘B’ গ্রেড থাকতে হবে। নম্বরপত্র/মার্কসীট এ ‘F’ গ্রেড থাকলে উক্ত প্রার্থীর আবেদন গ্রহণ করা হবে না। বিগত ৩ শিক্ষাবর্ষের মধ্যে কোনো শিক্ষা বিরতি বা কোনো শ্রেণীর পুনরাবৃত্তি থাকলে আবেদনকারীকে অযোগ্য বলে বিবেচনা করা হবে।
যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের J-1 ভিসা পাওয়ার যোগ্যতা থাকতে হবে (উদাহরণস্বরূপ: যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের নাগরিকরা J-1 ভিসা পাওয়ার অযোগ্য)।
আবেদনকারী বিগত ৫ বছরের মধ্যে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে মোট ৯০ দিন বা তার অধিক বসবাস বা ভ্রমণ করে থাকলে তাকে অযোগ্য বলে বিবেচনা করা হবে।
আবেদনকারীকে অবশ্যই বাংলাদেশে বসবাসকারী স্থায়ী নাগরিক হতে হবে। কেউ দ্বৈত নাগরিকত্বের অধিকারী বা বিদেশে স্থায়ীভাবে বসবাসরত হলে তার আবেদন বাতিল হিসেবে গণ্য হবে।
ইংরেজি ভাষায় স্বাচ্ছন্দে কথা বলা, লেখা ও শিক্ষালাভের জন্য যথেষ্ট দক্ষতা প্রদর্শন করতে হবে।
আবেদনকারীর পিতামাতা উভয়েই কিংবা যেকোনো একজন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র দূতাবাসে বা যুক্তরাষ্ট্র মিশনে কর্মরত থাকলে উক্ত প্রার্থী অযোগ্য বলে বিবেচিত হবে।
আবেদনকারীর নিজ পরিবার কিংবা আত্মীয়-স্বজনের মাধ্যমে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে অভিবাসনের আবেদন করে থাকলে তার আবেদনপত্র বাতিল হিসেবে গণ্য হবে।
